Beat the Champ!

Congratulations to the Contender "GutShotRot"...

The Heavyweight Final took place on Sunday August 22, and after a long battle on the felt, long time Real Deal player Leif G. (user: "GutShotRot") from Ludlow, Shropshire won the online portion of the Beat the Champ promotion, and will be taking Evander Holyfield in Leicester Square on Thursday September 2 at Poker in the Park.

You can watch the heads up match live either at the Real Deal Poker tent at Poker in the Park, or online in the Real Deal Poker room itself.  The match begins at 7:30 PM UK time and the prize pool is €2,300 with 75% going to the winner and the runner up receiving 25%.

How it works:

You can work your way up through the weight classes, or you can just buy right into the Heavyweight ring... The choice is yours.

Lightweight Qualifiers

Daily Sit 'N Go's are available 24/7 and you can play 10 seater tournaments for €1.60 + .15, or 6 seater tournaments for €5.50 + .50 that move up to the middleweight division.

Middleweight Qualifiers

Daily Sit 'N Go's are available 24/7 and you can play 10 seater tournaments for €13 + 1, or 6 seater tournaments for €23 +2 that move up to the heavyweight division.

Heavyweight Final

On Sunday, August 22 at 8:00 UK time will be the Heavyweight Final for €100 + 9 where the winner will then take on Evander Holyfield heads up in the Real Deal Poker's "Beat The Champ", "LIVE"* at Leicester Square.

Prize Money

The Lightweight Qualifiers will pay 2 places. In the 10 seaters, 1st earns a seat in a 10 seat Middleweight Qualifier (€14), and 2nd wins €2. In the 6 seaters, 1st wins a 6 seat Middleweight Qualifier (€25) and 2nd wins €8.

You can enter as many Lightweight and Middleweight events as you would like to, but once you have a seat in the Heavyweight Qualifier, you don't need to fight any more in the lower weight divisions.

Middleweight Qualifiers will pay 2 places. In the 10 seaters, 1st earns a seat in the Heavyweight Qualifier (€109), and 2nd wins €21. In the 6 seaters, 1st wins a seat in the Heavyweight Final (€109) and 2nd wins €29.

The Heavyweight Final will have a standard payout structure, but first place prize money will be matched by Real Deal Poker and will make up the prize pool for the "Beat The Champ". Then the "Beat The Champ" purse will be split 75% to the winner, and 25% to the loser. This means you are guaranteed to win cash either way.

For example, let's assume there is a €10,000 prize pool for the Heavyweight Final... The winner, (now the Contender to take on the 5 time World Champ Evander Holyfield) would have received approximately €2,800, (assuming the payout structure pays 28% of the prize pool for first place) for winning the Heavyweight Title, but to take on the champ, Real Deal Poker is going to match the €2,800 with €2,800 of it's own thus making the purse between you and Evander €5,600, and the "Beat The Champ" winner will receive €4,200 and the loser will take home €1,400.

*Considering Real Deal Poker is a world wide poker room, and the Contender may incur some travel costs, Real Deal will cover up to €600 for travel and hotel accommodations. 

If the Contender cannot make it to London on September 2, he/she will use a video chat service like Skype to broadcast his live video feed to the Poker in the Park event to play Evander in the "Beat The Champ" heads up poker bout on the felt, where thousands of spectators will be on hand to witness this historic event.

Items of note:

The travel allowance has no cash redeemable value if the Contender does not come to London for the Fight on the Felt.

The travel allowance will be credited to your Real Deal Poker account AFTER you arrive at Leicester Square on September 2.
